Travelling by train or bus:
Llandudno Junction is the main transport hub for reaching Betws-y-Coed. Arriva Trains run between Betws-y-Coed and Llandudno Junction (on the Blaenau Ffestiniog route), as do their buses. The bus timetable often connects better with the trains arriving at Llandudno Junction.
Bryn Afon is just a short flat walk (less than 10 minutes at a modest pace) from Betws-y-Coed railway station. For simplicity, we suggest that you get off whichever bus you are on at the railway station. On leaving the station area, you come out onto Station Road. Cross the road and follow the path opposite to the right of the village green/football field. You will pass the Tourist Information Office on your right-hand side. At the end of the path, you will see the Royal Oak Hotel and Stables Bar on the other side of the road. Turn right and walk along the main road through Betws-y-Coed with the river on your right. After the Hawkshead shop, turn right onto the Pont-y-Pair bridge. Bryn Afon is the first house on your right.
