Accessibility

Bryn Afon Guest House extends a warm welcome to everyone. If you have any queries regarding accessibility or require any assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.

The house: There is a low step on entering the main front door. The guest house is on three levels (ground floor, 1st floor and 2nd floor). There are 15 stairs to the 1st floor (rooms 1, 2, 3 and 4) and a further 14 stairs to the 2nd floor (rooms 5 and 6). A handrail runs alongside the stairs from the ground floor up to the final stair on the 2nd floor. Assistance can be provided with luggage if required. On the ground floor, there is a guest lounge and a dining room that is accessible to guests. There are no ground floor guest bedrooms. The main hall and landings are well-lit and the lights are controlled by a motion sensor. All but one of the six guest bedrooms are en suite with showers. There are no baths in any of the guest rooms. Room 5 has its own private shower room across a small level landing which is located two paces away from the bedroom. Rooms are bright and evenly lit. Overhead lighting is controlled by a switch on the wall. Bedside lamps are also in each room. Flat screen digital television with remote control and subtitles are in each guest room.

Access from the car park: From the car park, there is a slope up towards the rear of the house and a series of 7 steps with a handrail along the side of the house to the front door.

Front garden: The front garden which overlooks the river is for guests’ use and is accessed via the front door. Tables and chairs are available.

Pets: The style and design of the house make it unsuitable for dogs or any other pets to stay in guest bedrooms so we do not accept dogs or other pets. However, assistance dogs are welcome.

Communications: We offer guests free Wi-Fi usage. At the time of writing, mobile phone network connectivity was available throughout the guest house.

Allergies: We have two friendly dogs who are kept away from all guest areas at all times. However, that does mean that Bryn Afon is unsuitable for anyone who is allergic to dogs. We prepare food in a kitchen where nuts have been present so guests with nut allergies should be aware. Our guest duvets and pillows are made from synthetic micro-fibres and not feathers.

Food: Where possible, locally sourced produce is used for breakfast and beverage trays. We happily cater for various dietary requirements if advised in advance. We are able to cater for people with gluten intolerance or a less severe gluten allergy but this must be indicated at the time of booking. The breakfast menu can be provided in large print.
